Bonding in Bohol

The year 2011 is special for our family because of several milestones so we decided to celebrate it through a family vacation. And for this special event, we chose Bohol.

The island of Bohol is perfect for family bonding. The island's natural, cultural, and historical riches offer tourists plenty of things to see and do. Since our host lives in Panglao, we spent the first day on  a tour of Panglao Island. We first visited Hinagdanan Cave and although there wasn't much to see inside, we had fun taking pictures courtesy of our bubbly tour guide. At the Bohol Bee Farm, we feasted on  grilled squid, grilled marlin with organic salad, organic herb pasta, and seafood pizza. This food trip is one memorable highlight and anyone going to Bohol should not miss eating at the Bee Farm's restaurant overlooking the sea.  To cap the day, we frolicked in the white sands of Dumaluan Beach, dipped in the waters, and watched the sunset.

The countryside tour of Bohol brought us together aboard a rented car to famous landmarks-the  Blood Compact Site, the Camaya-an Tarsier Place, Baclayon Church, Hanging Bridge, Loboc Forest Camp, Man-made Forest, Butterfly Sanctuary,  Chocolate Hills, and the Loboc River. Our trip was  also made more convenient and enjoyable by the presence of our driver-cum-tourist guide Bebot who gave us interesting insight and funny stories about the places we visited. I commend courteous and dependable tourist guides like Bebot because they are the ones who give life to the tourism industry.

Going on a trip is good for the family. It's a good opportunity to bond, discover new culture, see God's wonderful creation, taste novel food, play together, laugh together, and just be with each other. In Bohol , we did all that and we are thankful for the opportunity to bond as a family.
